Some Myths About Vaping

August 21, 2019

In recent years, vaping has become increasingly popular. However, some people are still uninformed, and there are many myths about vaping going around. We will address some popular myths about vaping in the post.

Vaping and smoking are the same

One of the most prevalent myths about vaping is that it is just as harmful as smoking tobacco cigarettes. People, who are not well informed, think that vaping is equally as harmful to your lungs and general health as cigarettes. This could not be further from the truth. One of the main driving force behind the popularity of the vaping industry is that vaping is safer than traditional cigarettes. Vaping has helped many people who addicted to cigarettes quit the deadly habit. Studies into vaping have revealed that e-liquids do not produce carbon monoxide or tar-like cigarettes. Tar, carbon monoxide and other chemicals produced during smoking are responsible for the health complications that smokers experience. Some will argue that e-liquids also contain nicotine, just like cigarettes. While that is true, vaping gives you control over the amount of nicotine that you consume.

E-liquid vapor can harm others

Another popular myth about vaping is that the vapor from e-liquids can harm others. This myth comes from the idea of cigarettes and second-hand smoking. People tend to group e-liquids and cigarettes in the same box since they believe that vapor from e-liquid is just as harmful as smoke from cigarettes. However, research has shown that vapor from e-liquids is not harmful.

Vaping is just as addictive as cigarettes

Some believe that vaping is just as addictive as smoking cigarettes. However, this is not true. Actually, vaping is known for its ability to help people quit cigarettes. Most e-juice blends contain less nicotine than cigarettes. Even e-liquids with 18mg of nicotine contain way less nicotine than traditional cigarettes. As a result, smokers turn to vaping to help them kick the habit and reduce their intake of nicotine.

Vaping is a gateway to smoking

Another popular misconception about vaping is that it can lead people, especially teenager, to start smoking. People who propagate this myth think that vaping glamorize smoking and will lure people into picking the habit. But this is not true. Studies have shown a decline in smoking among teens since vaping became popular.

There are many myths about vaping. Therefore, it is advisable to try to verify things and not believe in falsehood. Vaping is far healthier than smoking, and there are many excellent vaping products on the market.
